Physical Description: "Hats, of course, come in so many sizes, shapes, and colors, it is amazing, when one thinks about it, that people actually recognize a hat on sight and know it for a hat immediately. Perhaps this is because everyone carries in them the ideal of a hat, what it is, what it should look like, and carry this information with them on such a primal level that they automatically check every item they see against this ideal hatness and find some vague matchup. Philosophy aside - strange to be thinking about such a thing at a time like this, really! - the hat is quite ordinary on first glance. And then on second glance, it seems like a different hat entirely. Or a third. The thing writhes under her foot, changing with every glance she gives it, like a carnie's trick."
